As Diva Hollywood
As UK’s whip cracking sassy saucy comedic cabaret performer and event host Diva Hollywood has wowed audiences worldwide for 15 years and is a well respected presence on the global cabaret scene.
Dorrie created her alter-ego (Diva Hollywood) when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, having lost the use of one leg and an eye Diva decided to take her remaining bits and pieces on stage and wave them about in a sexy way! Diva’s doctors told her she had around 10 years of life remaining, but through the curative powers of positive thinking and public nudity Diva has proven the medical experts wrong.
Dorrie’s History
As a lifelong artist and post-graduate in Electronic Imaging Dorrie’s work has spanned mediums and genres but always maintained her core beliefs and unique outlook
Dorrie’s artwork explores the world through a mythological lens, re-framing our everyday lives through the magic of modern life as folklore. How her Irish upbringing described the landscape is how she sees the urbanised human experience. Whether its illness, disability, cultural cross pollination or her own personal narrative – her work continues to delight.
She has also created, developed and run several large-scale public art projects covering a multitude of disciplines in inclusive and ability-bridging art performances based around diversity, inclusion and representation. She has a deep experience of balancing creativity with the management of large and small budgets, negotiations and production.
Her work as a mentor and her workshops are predicated on the idea of breaking down barriers. Her worldwide online mentorship project delivered this ethos to over 5000 members.
A confident experienced public speaker to all types of audiences, whether they are academic, business-minded, or artistic.
